Zayn - It's a very male kinda name but it means beuty and grace in arabic  though perhaps it's not odd enough.
Adonis - From greek mythology, both beuty and flowers around that kinda name . . . plus I just think it sounds nice :P
Royce - Which is just the male varient of Rose
oh i like all those names. Except for maybe Adonis because it might be a bit vain ( wasnt he supposed to be made beautiful?) I am liking the name Cade. I wish I could use Cole but charmed is all I can associat it with.
Maybe we hsould change the title of this thread to help with names. Than it can just be a thread everyone goes to share names???
The Adonis complex?? :P Where people feel they need more muscles Heehee
The name Adonis seems to crop up in reference to a number of beautiful mens/boys but I think originally he was just some sort of brith-rebirth god related to vegetation or something :P
Anyway I think this is already turning into a share names thread XD Names are fun, one of the best bits about chreating characters is that you gte to go off and create/find weird names for them :P Or not so weird if that's what you choose :P
I like names which arent wierds but arent exactly everywhere. Like i like Jude but would shy away from like tyler ( which every second kid on my street is name)
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. :D
I like the name Cade - i think it sort of fits him. The trouble is, one of the other male characters is called Cas, so they're a bit similar. Maybe I could change Cas to something else... And now I have exactly the same problem. :P
I was also thinking about either: Rayn, Brennan, Raiden, Sol, or Cade.
yea i like the name cade, a guy in my class is called cade. and it's a name thats not to common, but it would sound good in a story.
i like all the names you chose avialle.... hmm hard choices XD
oh i love sol! its awesome
Ok I need help with names too now
At the moment I'm not sure if I want a 'real' name or just a pseudonym for a female character I have that's been nameless for about a year now. :P She is part of a group of travelling street performers who aren’t exactly 100% law abiding citizens and is herself a contortionist. She has a brother who has coined himself Mr Fish (his pet fish is accordingly named Mrs person)and I don’t even plan on giving him his given name so I’m still umming and ahhing as to whether I should bother giving her one too.
Anyway I’m rambling so give me odd names that don’t mean anything in particular. Something that’s catchy and memorable, make them up if you want to . . . I’m just at a complete loss for her. Usually I can at least slap a temporary name on character’s but I haven’t even done that.
Okay, so to help you out I pulled out the baby name book and pointed randomly to a few:
Astra (which I think would be good as either a pseudonym or a real name)
Rosanne
Solange (it means dignified in French)
Ysabel
Janet
Elberta/Alberta
Just to chuck a few out there.
yes i have adopted Cade in replace of jude. Its a great name. Hmmm I dont know about this contortionist thing. do you want a name which is what people call her, like a nickname .. ummm i dunno twister.... or a proper human name like emile?
Toan (I guess it's pronounced toe-an)
Macha (like mock-a, although you could really pronounce it anyway you want, it's your character)
Vidhika (like vivica with a "d")
Loola (I just think that's a funny name)
Carmel (as in "CAR-mel", like the place not the food)
I also like the name Fifi for a street performer. (it might be because that's one of my cat's names and I miss her |:| )

Ms Twist could be a nickname. Or just look though the members list here, there are some strange names on it. :P
lol call her sister twister. lol
I like Astra. Or you could have something like - Aurelia, Thera, Zuri, Ferne, Arka, or Nyla.
oh i like aurelia. and i also like amity, juniper and verity ( my sister's name.) perhaps naming her with a "thing" name. Like frost or rain or winter?
I really like the name River, and I think it works well for a man or a woman. Rain is also a very lovely name, as is Winter.
River always makes me think of Firefly, but it could work as a contortionist's stage name: twisting like a river, always changing, always flowing...

Hmm I like Aurelia but I've told myself I'm not allowed to have anymore A names since I have a rather large amount of character and places starting with the letter A :P Arafuria, Arunaz, Adaeze, Alex, Amalia, Accacia, Antonia, just to name a few. I need to go further than the A on naming sites methinks :P
Toan I don't mind and I think it suits well with the other names for this story. It's not overly feminine either which I think suits her character. [act]ponders[/act]
Thanks people.

ok, I am going to ask about a name too. I am currently discussing it with my bf, but every time I come up with something, he thinks it's to pompy, and every time he comes up with something, I think it's too unusual :P I am tossing between Emrys, Tullan, Godfrey and Saden for a lord who is the leader and founder of a rebel group (if you have read my SING story, then I am looking for a new name for Lord Alan :)) He has twin 15 year olds, um, he used to be chief advisor to the king before the king got assinated, um, is known by most as the white knight, but is really a lord who is trying to get the rightful king back on the throne. I think thats about it. He's a knight, um, tallish i dont know :P anyway I cant decide. BF said that Emrys was too pompy, and I didn't really like Tullan or Sedan they dont sound Pompy enough (if people understand me :P)
anyway that was longer then I thought it would be any suggestions? I have already searched the name sights but nothing really jumped out. Emrys kinda did but still a bit unsure :-?
Help me please?

Elos, Elosnor or Elosden? My brother uses these as screen names sometimes, and I think they are quite catchy. Lord Elosden, White Knight.
Sorry, that's the best I can do at 12.15 am....after getting up at 6.30 this morning :P
I like Emrys. (I assume pompey means the same as pompous?) I think if he was born a noble his name should be somewhat pompous, but Emrys is enough so that it isn't too little and not too much.
I like Tullan, but it's definitely not overly pompous. I HATE the name Godfrey (but hey, that's just me.)
Random suggestions: Cashus, Cassius, Darrah (which I really like for a noble), Leonid, Nikolai
Sometimes, if I'm stuck for a name, I look up names that have a meaning relevant to the character, so here are some random names that mean something to do with 'white' though I've left out quite a few.
Albion
Albus
Finnegan
Gaerwn
Gavin
Laban
Lavan
Wentworth
Whitby
Wynn
Hope that helps somewhat!
oh wentworth. i like that for the character: Lord wentworth. hmm *mulls it over* there is this site called nymbler where you put in names you like but arent quite right and it gives you suggestions for similar names. maybe you can try that? remember its nymbler.... not nambla

I like the nymbler site Miky...and though it's not relevant, I had to post it. I put in a few character names I had been using, to see what else came up in the search. Among others I got Caspian, Aragorn, Galadriel and Fifi XD
Wentworth is nice, but every time I hear it, my mind immediately goes to Jane Austen's Persuasion :P
omg i can't believe you got those names! what were the names you put in? Why don't you call him elijah, eli for short? for some reason I am loving the bible names at the moment. names like Elijah, emmanueal, raphael, Gabriel, judah etc They are awesome and automatically carry gravitas
