I've stretched my daily target to a minimum of 1000 words in one day and for two days combined. The result has been wonderful, as I am currently at 31785 words :)
Great work Arwen, keep it up!

Almost 14k in the last week, so I'm sitting just over 45k now, which means I'll probably be increasing my goal in a few days.
And snippet:
The sound of horses hooves filled the air and Marideth hurried back down the path in time to see her brother stand up straight and run a hand through his blonde hair, as if he were trying to tidy it up. Standing beside him she could not resist teasing him a little.
“You missed a bit Morgan, right at the back.†She giggled when he raised a hand to pat his already flat hair flat.
“Ha ha Mari,†he intoned, dropping his hand to his side.
Not finished, Marideth reached up and patted his cheek with a wet hand, laughing as he jumped.
“What did you do that for?†he yelped. “Your hand is cold! And wet!†He was wiping his cheek now to both dry and warm it.
Marideth frowned at her hands. She hadn’t thought they were cold. Wet yes, but they weren’t cold. “Well, I noticed earlier you were dozing off against the wall, so I thought a little cold water would wake you up.†She smiled brightly at him, “It wouldn’t be good manners for you to fall asleep when our guests arrive.â€
“I was not falling asleep!â€
“No, you were just listening for Hilary’s arrival.â€
Morgan blushed and refused to look at Marideth. She thought about teasing him some more, but the horses were closer and she could hear her parents coming up the path behind them.
“It looks like we are here just in time,†Orlen declared.
“Only because we ran down the stairs,†Nerissa told him.
“We would not have had to run if you hadn’t of made me make the bed. It’s not like we entertain anyone in our room,†he retorted.
“Stop it you two,†Morgan snapped at them as the gates were opened by a footman.
I love how you humanise all these mythical characters :). And what a splendid word count!

Thank you Marta. Although these characters are completely original. It's just a weird coincidence that one of them is named Morgan.
1536 words yesterday and 1535 words today, which means I should reach 50k tomorrow :)
Wooo! And ah, I just assumed this was an Arthurian piece :).
Fabulous work in both snippet and word count :)

Thank you both :) And in wonderful news, I hit 50184 words today, and have now increased my goal to 70k :D
I do have another Arthurian piece in progress Marta, but these characters called out to me, and I've been having so much fun writing them. Bizarrely I've actually been writing chronologically, excepting for the fact I started two thirds of the way through and then had to write the beginning after writing the ending.
I was gonna say, I'm not sure they had footmen in Arthurian times :P Congrats on meeting your original goal!

Despite missing three days of writing (I really did not feel like trying to write immediately after having my wisdom teeth out. My poor characters probably would have suffered greatly) I have already reached my updated goal and passed it, so once again I'm increasing my goal by 20k to 90k :)
I hope you're feeling better. Great news about your goal!
That's a phenomenal word count. I think you can afford to take a day off here and there :D
