  Hmm, looks like I'll have to get in line to receive some of Jossie's incredible motivation. Seriously, you're doing an amazing job, Jossie!
  
  Best of luck with getting your characters to behave as you intend, too. I had two characters who were meant to be interested in each other in my NaNo project and it just never happened. Instead, this odd, prickly attraction developed with a completely different character, which added an awesome dynamic, yes, but it wasn't what I'd intended!
  
  I'm looking forward to some more snippets of your story, too. The bits you've shown us so far have been tantalising.

  It saddens me that when I write, my characters tend to be boring and predictable and just do what I expect. Mind you, given each of my stories have at most 2-3 significant characters, not really much scope for imaginative goings on. Sigh. Go all you people with plot and interest in your stories!! How I envy you.

  I spent a while trying to find some inspiration. My cousin gave me a writing prompt using FMS photoaday with the word Shadow.. but I don't think it went where it was supposed to. Perhaps if I expand on it a little more, it will be better. But tomorrow.

  Unfortunately yesterday I did not have time to write. I got pretty excited when I got an early Xmas present partly for myself, and was busy setting that up (an iPad!). I foresee some writing to take place on this new iPad very soon.
  
  Can I ask anyone else who uses iPads to write with? And what program you use to write with?
  
  Tonight I wrote a bit more with the 10,000 words as a target which I exceeded! Hurrah. I am quite chuffed about this. My last writing spurt lasted for a month, but it was a once a week thing and by the end I had managed just under 10,000… so to only have gone 8 days into this OberNoWriSu and have already reached 10,000 words is a huge achievement for me!! I'm so excited. Can't wait to hit 20,000 words by the end of next week!
  
  Here's a tidbit from what I wrote today - sorry about if it doesn't flow well or sounds crappy. I am aiming for words rather than quality at the moment. I am loving that my ideas are getting down on the page. I look forward to editing after all of this to put things together a bit more!

  Very careful choice of wording there. I'd not be trusting him either.
  
  I occasionally used Pages to write, as well, Jossie. Also when I was using my iPad at uni, I bought a Bluetooth keyboard because I found typing on the screen slower and a but awkward.

  Huzzah for shiny new toys! If you're going to do a lot of writing on your iPad, it would definitely be a good idea to invest in a keyboard. Typing on the screen is OK for a little while, but it drives me crazy if I need to do it for an extended period of time. Have fun with it!

  Tonight I was stuck - couldn't think of where to go next. So instead I looked back at some old stuff I had written ages ago. Back to their very first meeting and inspiration came that continued from there. It seems for this OberNo I am writing a little out of sequence. I might try to retrace my steps to the point that you guys read, just so I can sort a few things out.
  
  So tonight's was about how Kalea convinces (force) Aidan to take her along on his journey after their first meeting. I find when I concentrate on Kalea and Aidan, I find more to write about, so I should build up their relationship a bit more. Also there was a bit more background to the stranger (Derek) who made the bargain with Aidan in the last snippet.

  Absolutely! There are always going to bits and pieces of the past that need to be filled in, not to mention exciting bits waaaay in the future that you just have to jump to right away.

  I never write ANTYTHING in sequence. So I spend a lot of time filling in gaps (and finishing unfinished sentences because I just broke off mid thought ...)

  Unfinished sentences are just evil! It's bizarre that you can forget something that you thought was seared into your imagination at the time. If I ever have to stop mid-sentence now, I always leave a little reminder of what the rest of the sentence was going to be about, because I know I can't trust myself to remember otherwise.

  Work dinners for end of year are happening. One was tonight and it's now too late to write, which annoys me (a new feeling since I'e only started writing regularly). Tomorrow's shouldn't be late (different people), so I am hoping I make up by writing double my daily targets.
  
  Turns out my sister has a keyboard to use with my iPad, but the keyboard is tiny, the spacebar not working well.. I may have to invest in a bigger one, or content myself with my Macbook (which also has quick reference to what I've already written).

  It's kind of fantastic to find yourself frustrated at not being able to write, isn't it? In a backwards sort of manner, I mean. It's a great reminder that we're crazy about writing, even if we might have forgotten about it for a little while.
  
  Good luck with getting your iPad sorted out for your writing endeavours! You could probably get away with typing on the screen for a little while, just to see if you need a proper keyboard or not. I just have very low levels of patience when it comes to iPads (AUTOCORRECT MUST DIE, for instance), so my opinions are always going to be slightly biased. They're excellent for reading on, though!

  Agree with all sentiments! I think keyboards are not that expensive. Mine and others I've seen are a normal keyboard sort of size, and the iPad sits in a little groove so the whole thing resembles a laptop.

  I've got a mini-keyboard for my iPad, but I'm okay with the small size (at the moment I'm more annoyed with my new laptops keyboard which has a lame space bar that doesn't always register when I've hit it :( ) But, yeah, like Darga said, you can easily get full-size keyboards for iPads these days and they are relatively cheap depending on the kind you get.

  Bunne, I agree re the autocorrect. I might not bother with the keyboard since my Mac seems just as good and especially since I type so much more quickly on it!
  
  Tonight's dinner was awesome, and I got home at almost 9… after showering I settled down… and procrastinated. Bad, bad, bad. BUT, can I make up for it by saying that I've started ordering the bits I've written for this OberNo (as well as previous scenes) and dividing sections up into chapters (I decided today that Kalea&Aidan's journey get one chapter, then Derek&Deidre get the other - then eventually they all come together). I also worked out a chapter outline, and wrote in red the scenes that need to be filled in (which then equates to words written for tomorrow - even if not actual words for today!).
  
  I know I should JUST WRITE, but I think I was finding the sequencing a bit crazy in my head, and I felt I wasn't developing my characters well enough with all the jumping around.
  
  Goal for tomorrow is to fill in gaps with several scenes (aim is for 2000+ words). Afterwards, I want to write a brief/rough outline for the next chapters (2 or 3) so that I can choose which scenes to write and jump wherever I like, but still have some structure overall. If i can't manage to brainstorm ideas, then I will just go back to jumping all over the place (since it's worked before!).
  
  Does it sound like I'm procrastinating and rationalising the lack of actual words two days in a row? ~:|
