Oh absolutely - I do agree with that. They can spend their budget on quality rather than quantity - but it leaves us wanting! And again, that's well planned. The creators of the show hook us in and have us wanting more :P so they have done their job, and secured another season, etc.
That sounds like it'd be right. I did wonder what would happen to the 2nd (no power) device, in Abi + Connor's time. Surely whiz-kid can whip something up to give it a bit of power - but it's far more likely that Danny gets back to them and they go back together. I'm wondering if there will be another big change in the future, considering what's happened in the past. Similar to Claudia becoming Jenny between seasons 1 and 2?
The predator story hasn't been resolved, true. I suspect the government does have a hand in creating them - didn't we see Christine's people torturing/testing one for a moment during this season? Perhaps they were finding out what exactly they were composed of (it's human and bat, isn't it?) - discovering how to splice the genes...
Just loaned season 1 to MK, so hopefully we'll have a third fan in here soon, too :P oh - and I have to say. Giving her the DVD cover, with Nick and Claudia on the front cover - I actually missed them! I hope Claudia/Jenny comes back. I guess Nick can't...since the Nick/Helen conflict is over.
I can't believe i didn't think of that! Something has to have changed in the future.
I wonder if Nick and Claudia/Jenny will be back next season. It is a time-travel show afterall, so anything should be possible i guess
I do hope they come back. I miss them too!
Lets hope MK watches them quickly

[act]sob[/act] when I found out on BBC today, the first thing I did was send you an email!! (so, expect a weird email from me...)
I can't believe it's been cancelled. Now we're never going to know how they get back to the future. Unless ITV spin out and decide to revoke their decision :(
I'm totally devestated by this news...the guys at work didn't get it (I found out during morning tea break) - but it was honestly one of the series that I looked forward to, a LOT. More so than Doctor Who these days, which is a big thing for me.
[act]shakes fist at ITV[/act]
I know! I'm really not happy!
I've found your e-mail and replied, and found out that an old workmate of mine has already started a Facebook group to save Primeval. I've sent you an invitation.

Excellent idea. Will go join now.
Do facebook petitions actually work? :-/ I suppose it doesn't hurt to try.
Have invited anyone who responded to this thread, too.
Cancelled?? Whaat!! *cries* I didn't even realise there was a season 3 until I found this thread, then I eagerly watched it before reading any of the spoilers and now... no more Primeval? =( I never expected a dinosaur show to get so addictive =P
Lets hope that there are lots of people currently creating petitions to ITV to pick the series up again
I spent all of yesterday watching season 3 and really enjoyed it. It seems like the writers actually thought out a story arc, which makes it frustrating that it's been cancelled :-(
OK, so there is some hope for Primeval.
No news yet about ITV gving it a reprieve, but it seems that Warner Bros has just bought the film rights to the series, so we may be seeing an American big-screen version at some point
That's not necessarily always good news :P but at least there's some hope!
[act]shakes fist at ITV[/act]
I agree!
I'm still hoping that ITV will come to their senses. Might pay their head office a visit next time i'm in London
Well, its official: Primeval is as good as extinct.
ITV has confirmed that it won't be picking up the show for a fourth series, despite rumours of a rescue plan that involved the SCI-FI channel footing some of the bill. (They have also cancelled the Demons series)
[act]cries[/act] Noooo!!
I can see why they canceled Demons, to be honest. It didn't really have that much going for it; sort of like Buffy, only minus Joss Whedon :-/
But NOT Primeval :(
You know, I bet if people got behind it like the world did of Firefly someone would pick it up and make a movie...or at least FINISH the story! As it is--
they're STUCK back in time!! You can't just leave them there!
It's a similar situation to The Sarah Conner Chronicles, where that was suddenly cancelled and left on a cliffhanger
with John Conner trapped in a future world where no one had heard of him
I just wish that companies would be allowed to finish a series properly if it is cancelled.

I'm determined to not let this thread sink away into oblivion! [act]so...am still in denial[/act]
So, I'm thinking - how could we finish the story? Give ourselves closure :P ?
In the end, we had:
Danny stuck in the past, in the dawn-of-man times.
Abby and Conner stuck in the Cretaceous.
Danny has no anomaly device (but Helen does, so he'll have to do a raid before the Dino completely eats it).
Abby and Conner have one, that doesn't have any power left int it.
So, is the conclusion that-
As you mentioned earlier, DO, that Danny will find Helen's anomaly device, and leap back to Abby/Conner, then all three of them go home with the one device?
And, how will Helen's machinations in Pliocene - killing a number of the first humans - effect the future?
[act]cries[/act] I want this show back!
I too want this show back! Things were affected last time history was changed, and this time it was a big change! Can't believe they've left it like this...
Perhaps if the creators love it enough (or, love us enough), they'll do what Joss Whedon did with Firefly.
If there's enough support behind it, I mean...we could have that Primeval movie (but done in the UK, please!). Or a Primeval comic book or something.
Just to tell us what happens! :"(
[act]needs closure[/act]
I was wondering if they'll continue with a comic book. Might be worth waiting for a while to see if any of the UK comic companies bring something out
I'd be happy with anything! Comic, movie, novel...renewal of the TV Show [act]makes puppy-dog eyes at ITV[/act]

Huzzuh - progress :D !
But it looks like it's starting at episode 1? Is that official, or fanbased I wonder?
I'm not entirely sure. I assumed they'd be continuing the comics from where the series left off. I'll try and do some more research and find out
+++ At last! Some News ++++
Abby and Conner can finally get down from that tree, because Primeval is back from the dead. Having Basically cancelled the show after series three, ITV has teamed up with UKTV, BBC Worldwide and German network ProSeiben (the show's big over there) to make 13 new episodes.
They'll be spread over two new seasons: season four will begin in early 2011, and air on ITV before being repeated on Watch (one of UKTV's channels); season 5 will get its debut on Watch later that year.
So it appears we have a year to wait, but it's going to be worth it!
:D !!!!!!
You've just made my day.
That's excellent news. Can't properly express glee at this. Don't care how long it takes, as long as we know that we WILL get closure! :D
