Yeah the heat was offputting! Who can be bothered doing anything when it's this hot? Good excuse to watch some of the many hours of recorded programs I've got! Or go to the movies which I'm doing tomorrow and Friday!

357 words today, making the story clock over 2000. But I'm concerned that a) it's not science fiction enough (not really a problem but it was supposed to be for a SF competition, but doesn't have to be). And b) because I have my character trying to figure it out, it seems a little too obvious, as in, I make my character think, oh this must be significant, which points out that it is significant. But I want the character to think about what is going on, and try to understand it, it is their job after all.
I think I might post a link in prodders
Maybe try writing it in a different perspective then.

I figured out last night a few things about the story, so I'm feeling better about it. So there were a lot more words today, i.e. 806! The most I've done all obernowrisu!

The only thing I'm concerned with now, apart from the dialogue which feels a little rigid, is that I may be foreshadowing too much, so that the whole thing is obvious. Once it's finish of course, I can tweak if that's the case, but from my perspective they stick out (which is obviously flawed since I know that these parts are significant so I think it's obvious)
1001 words today!!! There's still quite a bit to write and fix up, but at least it's progressing. It's now over 4000 words.

Nice work! You seem to be making great progress on this story. Don't worry too much about your first draft - hardly anyone will read it, after all! Any problems can be fixed in your next draft or so and no-one need ever know. :D
