There are now 57 of them, of pure rubbish, as I try to get inspired and find something to write about - trying to continue one of the other stories seemed too hard

Not sure about this phrase: He carried what looked to be a computer magazine, what an anachronism, new technology presented in an old medium.
Anachronism might not be the right word, just want something to highlight the bizarreness of reading about technology in print.
The magazine might be considered an anachronism in this digital age. Perhaps you could use 'contradiction'? Or 'How incongruous: new technology presented in...'?
Also while we've got your sentence here, might be nice to remove the comma splice (replace first comma with a full stop).
I think I'm too fond of comma splices...

And snippets remain just that, random words completely out of context: "“Cabin crew arm doors.†Came over the PA. I always wondered what exactly this meant. Does it mean that if someone tried to open it now it’d explode? Probably not. But that’s the meaning which enters my mind every time I hear it.
